Since 0.4 the keystone snaps to the pier's centre line, so the old off-centre trick is gone. What we're doing now in Pier Nine: one of us bridges flat for 8 blocks, the other drops the first pier stone at 6. Keystone goes in the moment the far side is touched, not before. Early keystone, early bridge, and the other team has to come to you. What's everyone else running?
Keystone opening builds (what's working after 0.4)

Quendrel#1 Ichorwalker#2 The other half of Pier Nine here. The thing people miss is that the bridge doesn't bear weight before the keystone. If you walk out on it early you fall, and the anchor puts you back at your pier. That's 12 seconds you don't have.

We lost the final doing the opposite, so yes. Half Span is switching to this. The one counter I've seen work is to ignore your own bridge for the first 20 seconds and just knock their bridger off.
Dunmore#4 Does the snap also apply in Training? I've been running span 24 and my times got worse after the patch, wondering if it's me.
BrassFinchMOD#5 It applies everywhere, Training included. The old times are still on your profile with a note that they were set before 0.4. Not a bug, but there's a feedback thread if you think the snap should be optional in Training.
kettle_k#6 Tried the 8-and-6 opening last night. Works until the other team has a bow. Then you want the pier stone at 4 and a wall on it before the keystone. Slower by maybe five seconds, didn't fall once.
